Mother and Sons, on the Same Track

MY sons have always loved trains. Most children do. I have cheap ray bans of mine as small boys crowding the window at the front of the car next to the conductor’s booth, crowing with glee at the powerful speed with which the world rushes past. For years, my older son had been fantasizing about taking a train all the way across the country. Suddenly this winter, the constellation of cheap ray ban sunglasses lined up; one was on break from college, the other from law school. We stopped dreaming about the journey, and started planning it.

Our train trip would take us ray bans on sale overnight from New York to Chicago, where we would board the California Zephyr, which would carry us through Denver into San Francisco. From there we would drive down the coast to Los Angeles.
